Evening all,
Hope you had a great weekend and have had a good start to the week! Here are this week’s key Alchester updates for you.
🏅 Medal Monday 🏅
In a weekend that saw England Women win the Rugby World Cup and Europe win the Ryder Cup, a handful of members got stuck into their own bit of sporting action. Great running all 🙌👏
🏃♂️Vitality London 10k – Chris Melbourne (PB)
🏃Wild Run Cotswolds 10k – Annika Lucas
🏃♂️Nottingham Half Marathon – Stuart Walford
Do check out the posts on the Facebook page and Instagram for photos and if we missed you, do let me know and share your pics!
🏃♂️ 🏞️ Cross Country
Watch out in your email inboxes this week for all the details for the new, upcoming Cross Country season. It would be great to have a strong Alchester presence and representation at as many of the races as possible, so please do read and then act on the email if you’re interested.
♣️🏁Club Championship
We hope to have details of the Club Championship for 2025-26 finalised very shortly, so do look out for the details when they come!
🥳🍔🍷🕺 End of Season Party – SAVE THE DATE
We are delighted to confirm that the date for the end of season party is Friday 21st November – please put it in your diaries/calendars as we’d love as many of you as possible to be there to celebrate another brilliant year for Alchester RC!
More details to follow soon!
🗣️ Members WhatsApp Group
After gathering feedback from you, we are delighted to let you know that we have setup an Alchester Members WhatsApp group. This group will be used to communicate key messages to members, however, key messages will continue to be communicated via email and the Facebook group, so if you’d rather not join the group then you’ll still get the info!
The members WhatsApp group is part of the Alchester WhatsApp community and I will post a video into the WhatsApp group in the next week or so explaining how to use the group and where it fits within the community and where/how/what you’ll receive certain messages.
Join the WhatsApp group here.
As part of our communications review, we have now also decided to decommission our use of Spond, so we will no longer be using it!
♣️🏁Club Championship Races
There’s just the 1 race left in the Club Championship for this season:
12th October – Buckingham 10k – enter here
This week’s Club Night Details
In terms of what’s going on at club nights this week, the details are as follows:
Tuesday 30th September
⏰ 18:55 meet for a 19:00 start
📍 Gavray Drive, the railway track end – here
🏃🏃♀️ Mile reps. All will be explained on the night if you’re not sure!
Thursday 2nd October
⏰ 18:55 meet for a 19:00 start
📍 Bicester Leisure Centre (meet in the car park round the back by the football pitches)
🏃♂️ Various pace groups will take in a variety of routes around the ring road aiming to get back at the same time
🔦🦺 Be seen, be safe. As the nights are drawing in, it is worth thinking about what you wear to ensure that you’re visible but that you can also see on your runs, especially with the ring road light lottery. So do think about wearing hi visibility clothing and bringing torches in the coming weeks!
That’s all for now! Have a great week.
