Welcome to this week’s update email – some key reminders of dates for your diary particularly, so keep on reading to digest all the info.
🏅 Medal Monday 🏅
As far as I’m aware, there weren’t any club members putting themselves to the test at any organised events beyond parkrun this weekend! However, if I missed you, do let me know and share your pics with me!
What is worth celebrating though is the brilliant evening we had at the Waddesdon Manor 5k on Wednesday with a decent club turn out and some smashing performances which included a smattering of PBs and a 🥉 for Steph Giles! Well done all! 💪
☀️ 🍻 🏃♂️ Next summer social run
The next summer social run will be on Thursday 14th August and will be in Duns Tew. Look out for further details in coming weeks especially in regards to pre-ordering food.
For those that don’t know, our social runs replace our normal Thursday club run and are in a different location each time, with the routes tending to take in at least some countryside and ending with drink(s) (and sometimes food).
🏃🏁Mota-vation Race #4
The next mota-vation race – Combe #2 – is a week on Thursday and here are the key details:
📆 Thursday 31st July
📍 Combe Recreation Ground, Park Road, Combe, OX29 8NA
⏰ 19:30 start – we’ll look to get a club photo at ~19:15 on the field by the car park
🎽 Remember to wear your club vest or T-shirt
🅿️ Parking is available on the recreation ground, however the carpark gets very crowded so please car-share where possible
🗺️ The route is a 2 lap course which takes in a descent to start, a long hill and a section across the top, twice! More details here.
🏃♂️🏁 Alchester 5k
The Alchester 5k is just over 2 weeks away and I for one can’t wait! Look out for more details into your email inbox before the race whether your running or marshalling. I’m excited to showcase Alchester to the local running community once again – and a big shoutout must go to the 5k team who have done a brilliant job in making it happen! 👏 💪

Tuesday 22nd July

🏃🏃♀️ 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 mins all with 1 min recovery. All will be explained on the night if you’re not sure!
Thursday 24th July
⏰ 18:55 meet for a 19:00 start at the car park
📍 Bicester Leisure Centre
🏃🏃♀️ Summer routes across the fields in full force at various different paces – something for everyone.
