Evening all,
Hope you had a great weekend and have had a good start to the week! Here are this weekโs key Alchester updates for you.
๐ Medal Monday ๐
This weekend it was all about the 13.1 miles distance, which saw some cracking performances and thankfully all missed the worst of the weather! Well done all ๐๐
๐โโ๏ธWorcester Half Marathon – Steph Giles (๐ฅV35), Henry Larard (PB), Jonathan White
๐โโ๏ธ Porto Half Marathon – Lyndon Hammond
๐ New Forest Half Marathon – Courtney Wylde
If Iโve missed you, do let me know and if you ever have any photos for Medal Monday, please send them to me.
โ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ Club Night Venue/Route Changes
The time has come to change back to our Winter venues/routes, which will bring a mixture of emotions, but they are back as of today for the foreseeable.
This means that Tuesday speed sessions will meet at 6:55 for a 7pm start at the railway end of Gavray Drive. Thursdays club run meeting point will continue to be in the car park at the leisure centre for a 7pm start, but the routes will be based around the ring road! Hands up if youโve missed Gavray and the ring road ๐โโ๏ธ ๐โโ๏ธ
๐ฅCommittee Meeting
Last Friday the committee had a really good meeting discussing all things Alchester and some of the discussion will be communicated in due course, including the next item!
๐ฅณ๐๐ท๐บ End of Season Party
The details for the end of season party are being finalised and will be communicated very shortly, so watch this space!
โฃ๏ธ๐ Club Championship Races
Thereโs just the 1 race left in the Club Championship for this season:
12th October – Buckingham 10k – enter here
This weekโs Club Night Details
In terms of whatโs going on at club nights this week, the details are as follows:
Tuesday 16th September
โฐ 18:55 meet for a 19:00 start
๐ Gavray Drive, the railway track end – here
๐๐โโ๏ธ 800m x 6 or 8 with 1 min recovery between reps. All will be explained on the night if youโre not sure!
Thursday 18th September
โฐ 18:55 meet for a 19:00 start
๐ Bicester Leisure Centre (meet in the car park round the back by the football pitches)
๐โโ๏ธ Various pace groups will take in a variety of routes around the ring road aiming to get back at the same time
๐ฆ๐ฆบ Be seen, be safe. As the nights are drawing in, it is worth thinking about what you wear to ensure that youโre visible but that you can also see on your runs, especially with the ring road light lottery. So do think about wearing hi visibility clothing and bringing torches in the coming weeks!
Thatโs all for now! Hope to see you this week, but if not have a good one.
Gleds
