Hi,

Some important bits for this weeks email.

Motavation – This Thursday

The second race in the Mota-vation series is this Thursday evening (25th May) at 7:15pm, so the usual Thursday evening club run from the leisure centre won’t be taking place.

For those who have entered the Mota-vation series:

  • If you ran at the first race last month, remember to bring your race number with you. We keep the same number for the whole series;
  • If you have entered the series but didn’t run the first race, arrive in good time to collect your number before the start;
  • 7:15pm race start at Bletchingdon Recreation Ground / Bletchingdon Sports and Social Club, OX5 3BS. Parking is in the field opposite the recreation ground, but there will be marshals to make that obvious;
  • The course is just over 4 miles long, downhill near the start and up a hill near the finish;
  • If you can bring a reusable cup/bottle for water after the race, that will help the organisers to cut down on the number of disposable cups they throw away;
  • Enjoy it, and see you there!

Social Run – Lower Heyford – Thursday 1st June

Our next social run is on Thursday 1st June & will replace the usual club session. We will meet outside the Bell pub in Lower Heyford (OX25 5NY) at 6:50pm. The route is 10k mixed terrain but mainly off road.

If you plan to attend please email social@alchester-runningclub.co.uk so we have a rough idea of numbers.

The run is focused on social so no pb’s, just a good opportunity to run somewhere different and have a chat.

We will have various paced groups so don’t worry about your pace, everyone is welcome.

Parking is limited in Heyford so please share lifts if possible. Arrive at 6:50pm for a prompt 7pm start.

Bring some spare clothes and see you in the pub garden afterwards for a drink.

Please note this replaces the club run from the sports centre.

Greenbelt Relay – Saturday 9th July – Recruits needed ASAP

As mentioned a few weeks ago Sophie Dale has kindly volunteered to take on getting a team(s) sorted for the inaugural Greenbelt relay.

We need a team of 8 to run legs of between 4.7 and 9 miles exploring the Oxfordshire countryside of Risinghurst, Toot Baldon (nice pub!), Radley, Cummor, Beckley.

If you fancy it or want more details message Sophie.

Club nights

Tuesday’s as normal both this week & next week.

Thursday’s from the sports centre return on Thursday 8th June

Have a good week & run well whenever & wherever you may be racing.

Thanks

Alchester Cttee
