Just in case you didn’t see the sessions email was had a very successful AGM last week where the following people were appointed:
We have in Andrew Gledhill our 8th chairperson in the clubs 25 year history & some changes in other key roles with further updates to follow after the first committee meeting which will be held shortly.

If you want to run the final cross country of the season this is your final chance to put your name down – reply to the email.
We also need to supply a marshal so if you or a family member are able to help please let us know.
🚌 London Marathon Bus 🚌
Alchester Running Club now welcome bookings for the bus to and from the London Marathon on Sunday 27th April 2025.
Bookings are open to all, whether a member of Alchester, our friends from other local running clubs, or anybody else running or wishing to enjoy a fun filled day spectating at this world class event.
The Alchester Marathon bus will take runners directly to the start in the most relaxed and stress free manner.
The prices will remain the same as last year and offers fantastic value at only £25 per person return for members and £30 per person return for non-members. (Still far cheaper than a standard rail fare and can be relied upon to get you to the start in time!) As with previous years, if you only wish to use the bus to get to the start that is fine, but the cost will remain the same as the return price.
The bus will leave the rear of Bicester Leisure Centre, Queens Avenue, Bicester, OX26 2NR at 6am sharp. (Meeting at 5.45am!)
Runners will be dropped at the start at Blackheath in good time, and spectators will have the choice of getting off there or at Marble Arch in Central London.
For the return, the bus will pick up runners and spectators from very close to the finish at the designated bus pick-up point outside the RAC Club, Pall Mall leaving promptly at 5.30pm and returning to Bicester around 7pm. (We have extended the time to 5.30pm this year to try and help all runners but we must leave at that time due to regulations on drivers hours.)
Wendy and Ian Hunter have organised this bus for several years and have a lot of London Marathon experience, they will help runners get to the right start area and be on hand to answer any questions.
Booking early is advised to secure your place, we have sold out in recent years! If you would like a place(s) on the bus, please contact Wendy Hunter.
NB! Please note that your place on the bus is not confirmed until payment is made in full, and we cannot provide refunds if you choose to cancel after payment.

Spring must be around the corner as the 2025 Motavation series has dates & venues confirmed.
Full entry details will be communicated in the coming weeks so watch this space!
The confirmed dates are:
- Race 1 – 24th Apr 2025 – Charlton on Otmoor
- Race 2 – 29th May 2025 – Oxford
- Race 3 – 26th Jun 2025 – Combe I
- Race 4 – 31st Jul 2025 – Combe II
- Race 5 – 28th Aug 2025 – Stratfield Brake
Changes for this year
Most of the series will stay as you know and love it, with the following tweaks:
- You will have the option to collect numbers in advance of race 1
- Changes to the teams competition
- Series standings on the website during the series
- More non-alcoholic prizes available
- Female vet categories will be aligned with the male categories (V40/V50/V60/V70/V80)
