Alchester AGM

As communicated last week our annual AGM will be on Thursday 9 February at the Emmanuel Church on Bure Park (next to the shops) at 20:15

Club runs will start and finish from here as a one off.

So we know approximately how many to cater for please could you complete this survey. We’re not holding anyone to coming & likewise not saying you’re coming doesn’t mean you can’t come. Everyone is welcome up to the last minute.

We need new volunteers & new thoughts & ideas and there’s a section to indicate your interest. Jonathan can give more information if required.

Club nights this week

Tuesday & Thursday as normal with 18:50 meet & prompt 19:00 start especially as in the next few days it’s going to be cold.

February Cross Country

The penultimate round of the Oxfordshire league is on Sunday 5th Feb at Cotswold Farm Park. It’s £8 for the remaining 2 races. Please let Gary know by reply if interested.

We’ll have to provide a marshal & will probably co-ordinate albeit informally on life sharing.

London Marathon Bus

Alchester Running Club are now welcoming bookings for the bus to and from the London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April 2023. Bookings are open to all, whether a member of Alchester, our friends from other local running clubs, or anybody else running or spectating.

Booking early is advised due to the ongoing uncertainty around the train strikes. This popular bus will take runners directly to the start in a relaxed and stress free manner.

Our bus partners have increased the cost this year, so for the first time in over 5 years we will have a slight increase in price. But it is still fantastic value at only £20 per person for members and £25 per person for non-members.

The bus will leave the rear of Bicester Leisure Centre at 0600 hours sharp. (Meet at 0545.)

Runners will be dropped at the start at Blackheath in good time, and spectators will have the choice of getting off there or at Marble Arch in Central London.

The bus will pick up runners and spectators at 1630-1645 from close to the finish at the RAC Club, Pall Mall and return to Bicester for about 1830.

Wendy and Ian Hunter have organised this bus for several years now, and will make sure all runners get to the right start area and will be on hand to answer any questions.

If you would like to secure a place(s) on the bus please contact Wendy at w_hunter1@sky.com

Newcomers all very welcome.
