Well done to everyone who raced at the numerous events this weekend. Too many to mention!

Quite a few important bits this week so please read carefully.

Motavation – Thursday 25th May

The next Mota-vation race is next Thursday 25th May in Bletchingdon. Alchester has to provide 3 marshals for this race and we’ve currently got 2 offers, so if anyone who isn’t running the race is able to help out by taking the last spot please let Alan know.

As a reminder they’ll be no club night from the sports centre next week.

Social Run – Thursday 1st June

Our next social run is on Thursday 1st June & will replace the usual club session. We will confirm the location next week but it’ll be from a nearby village pub.

If you plan to attend please email social@alchester-runningclub.co.uk so we have a rough idea of numbers.

The run is focused on social so no pb’s, just a good opportunity to run somewhere different and have a chat. The route is mixed but mainly off road.

We will have various paced groups so don’t worry about your pace.

Arrive at 6:45pm for a prompt 7pm start.

Please note this replaces the club run from the sports centre.

If you’ve stepped out of your front door in the past few weeks you’ll have noticed the seemingly endless roadworks. The bad news is there’s more! Kings End is now closed for 4 weeks so please allow yourself plenty of time to get through / round.

Greenbelt Relay – Saturday 9th July

As mentioned a few weeks ago Sophie Dale has kindly volunteered to take on getting a team(s) sorted for the inaugural Greenbelt relay.

We need a team of 8 to run legs of between 4.7 and 9 miles exploring the Oxfordshire countryside of Risinghurst, Toot Baldon (nice pub!), Radley, Cumnor, Beckley.

If you fancy it or want more details message Sophie.

Club nights this week

Both Tuesday (Whitelands) & Thursday (back of the sports centre) as normal this week. It’s been great to see new faces & some days old returnees over the last few weeks. The newcomers have been delighted with the welcome they’ve received.

For those of you that wish to run the 4 mile ‘relaxed’ route, please can you let Katy Andrews know you’re coming or reply to this email so it can be forwarded on so we can ensure we have a buddy in place.

Both sessions will be an 18:50 meet for a 19:00 start.

Have a good week & run well if doing any of the upcoming club championships races this month and other races that are in the calendar & long term targets.
