Volunteers very much sought this week so please read below. If you fancy any of it out your hand up – your club mates will all be grateful.
Social Run – Duns Tew – Thursday 22nd June
Our next social run is this Thursday 22nd June. We will meet outside the White Horse Inn (OX25 6JS) at 6:45pm. The route is 10k of mixed terrain. There is also a 4.5 miles option.
We have reserved a section in the pub for drinks afterwards so if you’re coming please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can let them know numbers. We had a great turn out at the last one with 40 in attendance 😊
The run is focused on social so no pb’s, just a good opportunity to run somewhere different and have a chat.
We will have various paced groups so don’t worry about your pace, everyone is welcome.
Arrive at 6:45pm for a prompt 7pm start.
Bring some spare clothes and see you in the pub afterwards for a drink.
If you would like food take a look at the online menu & place your order before we start running.
Please note this replaces the club run from the sports centre.
Ridgeway Relay – runner required
We are in urgent need of a runner to do leg 3 of the Ridgeway Relay this Sunday. It’s a 9.4 mile leg that will need to self navigated & you’ll be starting around 10am but full logistical details can be shared. Reply to this email or let Andy Stickley know.
Greenbelt Relay – Saturday 9th July – more runners required
As mentioned a few weeks ago Sophie Dale has kindly volunteered to take on getting a team(s) sorted for the inaugural Greenbelt relay.
We need a team of 8 to run legs of between 4.7 and 9 miles exploring the Oxfordshire countryside of Risinghurst, Toot Baldon (nice pub!), Radley, Cummor, Beckley.
If you fancy it or want more details message Sophie.
With the race only 3 weeks away we need to ensure we have a full team.
Motavation – Combe I next Thursday
The next Mota-vation race is at Combe on Thursday 29th June. If you missed the entry deadline for the series, then individual race entries are available for the remaining 3 races, at a cost of £10 per race. It will be possible to enter on the night at the race, but the organisers would prefer people to enter in advance if possible, by emailing a form and paying by bank transfer. Click here to download the entry form. Payment and other details are on the last page of the form. Any questions ask Alan Bowen.
– If anyone is going to Thame 10k on Sunday & could distribute some Alchester 5k flyers that would be great.
– Tuesday’s as normal at Whitelands but no Thursday club night from the sports centre this week & next week due to social run & Motavation.
– well done to all those who raced at yesterday’s Chicken Run. Hot & humid seemed to be the feedback & we came home with some prizes with Steph & Shaun.
Have a good week
