Membership

You may be a little daunted about the thought of joining a running club if you have never been a member before.  Don’t be!  We have members of all ages (please note you must be aged 18 or over to join), all abilities and all levels of commitment.

The club is very friendly and social. Why not come along to a session on a Tuesday or Thursday evening and give us a try? You will be made very welcome.

We use the Membermojo online platform to process membership applications. To join or renew your membership, please see https://membermojo.co.uk/alchester.

Payment can be made by bank transfer – you can find bank details on the membermojo website. Using the online payment method will make the process quicker. If you are paying online please use MSHIP followed by your initial and surname as the payment reference, e.g. MSHIP J Bloggs.

NB By joining Alchester Running Club, you agree to abide by the Club’s Constitution and associated policies (see links in the Downloads section below), and the England Athletics Codes of Conduct.

 Benefits of membership

Apart from a lot of friendly people to run with there are a considerable number of benefits of membership:

• Alchester Running Club is affiliated to Oxon AA, the South East AA and England Athletics. This means that Club members do not have to pay the unattached levy when entering races (£2 saving per race entry)
• Insurance
• Reduced entry fee to cross-country series (5 races)
• Free entry to Ridgeway Relay
• Free coaching at Tuesday club training sessions
• Safer running in the winter on Thursday club nights
• Village routes in groups in the summer on Thursday club nights
• Entry to London Marathon club ballot (subject to qualifying conditions)
• Discounted entry fee to Mota-vation summer road race series
• Subsidised entry to the Oxfordshire Cross Country League series
• Discount for various running-related purchases and services, including Williamson Clinic (with discount code / your EA number)
• Subsidised end of season awards dinner and other club social events

Membership fees 2026-27

The fees for the membership year from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 have been set as follows:

• £48 for 1st claim members, i.e. if Alchester is your only or main club (includes England Athletics annual membership fee of £23)
• £25 for 2nd claim members, i.e. if you are registered with England Athletics already via another club

The England Athletics membership fee is payable at the full annual rate regardless of when in the year you join, but the Club membership part is reduced from October and again from January. The total fees payable when joining part way through the membership year are as follows:

from 1 October 2026

• £36 for 1st claim members, £13 for 2nd claim members

from 1 January 2027

• £30 for 1st claim members, £7 for 2nd claim members

The membership fees are reviewed at the AGM each year.
