Welcome to Alchester Running Club

We're a very friendly running club based in Bicester and were formed in 1999 with the intention of developing road, cross country and trail running in the Bicester area for all ages (over 18) and abilities. We actively encourage the social as well as the competitive aspect of the sport and whilst we like competition we try not to take things too seriously.

It will come as no surprise we had to suspend training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We began piloting a return to training during August to work out the best way to run our training sessions and started a weekly booking system to ensure appropriate numbers. With the second lockdown announced we have again had to pause training. Note that the lockdown rules do still allow you to exercise with one other person so if you are running in the dark evenings now please consider if you can run with one other person safely.

During the lockdown earlier this year, members of the club still managed to get out running and support the local community by delivering prescriptions to those vulnerable people who were unable to collect them, helping people stay safe. The clubs efforts did not go unrecognized and we received an 'Unsung Hero' certificate to thank us for this work.

We meet every week on a Tuesday and a Thursday

Tuesday Pace Improvement
Summer - Whitelands Farm Sports Ground, Bicester
Winter (from September) - at Gavray Drive, Bicester
